 Pension Establishment

When you begin a new pension it is important that it be established correctly to ensure you take advantage of all the concessions available to you in a way which can stand up to tax office scrutiny.

When you have decided what pension or combination of pensions is most suitable you must consult your deed to ensure you are eligible to receive the pension type/s chosen. An important consideration now that non-commutable transition to retirement pensions are available is whether your deed will allow pensions to be paid from preserved monies.

Your next consideration is whether you are eligible for, and would benefit from, a recontribution strategy. You should consult a financial adviser if you are unaware of this opportunity.

A critical consideration is whether or not the pension is to be reversionary and what estate planning result you wish to achieve.

Lastly the documentation is critical to create a proper, legal record of the pension.

It is unlikely that there are many, if any, administrators who have commenced the number of pensions we have and we look forward to providing you with the peace of mind that comes from our experience.

Often we prepare minutes for pensions which, though already commenced, have not completed the appropriate documentation. Click here for an application form.
